자주 묻는 질문
How many pounds are in a kilogram?
1 kilogram = 2.2046226218 pounds, and 1 pound = 0.45359237 kg exactly — the exact value of the international avoirdupois pound, not a rounded 2.2. So going kg to lbs, 70 kg ≈ 154.32 lb; going pounds to kg, 150 lb ≈ 68.04 kg. This weight converter uses the exact factor, so kg-to-lbs and lbs-to-kg both stay accurate.
What about ounces and stone?
1 ounce = 28.349523125 grams (so converting ounces to grams is handy for recipes and postage), 1 pound = 16 ounces, and 1 stone = 14 pounds = 6.35029318 kg. Stone is the everyday body-weight unit in the UK and Ireland, so 11 st = 154 lb ≈ 69.85 kg. Type a value once to see stone to kg and every other unit at the same time.
What are 근 (geun) and 돈 (don)?
They are traditional Korean mass units. One 근 (geun) is 600 g, used to weigh food such as meat and vegetables at markets. One 돈 (don) is 3.75 g, the standard unit for weighing gold and other precious metals at jewelers. Most global converters leave them out, so this tool adds both next to the metric and imperial units.
How precise are the results?
Every conversion keeps up to 10 significant figures, then trims trailing zeros for readability. Very large or very small numbers (roughly 1e15 and above, or below 1e-9) switch to scientific notation, so nothing is silently rounded away to zero. All values use the exact SI definition of each unit.
Is my input sent to a server?
No. This weight converter runs entirely in your browser — the number you type is never uploaded anywhere. The only thing saved is your last chosen unit pair (for example pounds → kilograms), kept in your browser's local storage so it is ready next time. The value itself is not stored.
