About Toolhub

Toolhub is a free collection of small, focused web tools for the everyday calculations and conversions that keep coming up — working out which pack is cheaper per 100 g, counting the characters in a cover letter, converting a temperature, estimating a loan repayment, or timing a study session. There is nothing to install and no account to create. You open a tool in your browser and it works immediately. Today the hub gathers more than one hundred tools across finance, health, dates, units, text, developer utilities and everyday life, and the collection keeps growing.

How each tool is built

Every tool follows one rule: it solves a single problem well, rather than trying to be a suite. A unit price calculator compares prices per unit — it does not also try to be a shopping list. Keeping each tool narrow means the interface stays obvious, the page loads fast, and there is nothing to learn before you get an answer. When a tool needs options for real-world cases — bundle deals, overnight shifts, different tax rules — those are added carefully so the simple path stays simple.

Before any tool goes live it is checked against a launch checklist. That covers the obvious things people forget: what happens on empty input, on zero, on negative numbers and on extreme values; whether the result explains itself instead of failing silently; whether it works on a phone as well as a desktop; and whether every piece of interface text is available in all supported languages. A tool only reaches the homepage once it passes. After launch, the whole collection is reviewed on a weekly maintenance pass, so links keep working, calculations stay correct, and rough edges get filed down over time.

Your data never leaves your browser

Toolhub tools are pure static pages. Whatever you type — a salary, a private bill, the text of a document, a password to generate — is processed entirely inside your own browser and is never uploaded to a server. There is no backend that could store it, because there is no backend at all. The only things kept are small conveniences like your chosen theme and language, and those live in your browser's local storage on your own device. That means you can run a sensitive calculation without handing your numbers to anyone.

How Toolhub stays free

Toolhub is free to use and intends to stay that way. Running costs are covered by unobtrusive advertising and by readers who choose to support the project with a small tip. Advertising is handled through Google AdSense; the Privacy Policy explains exactly what cookies are used and how you can opt out. We would rather be transparent about the trade — a few ads in exchange for tools that cost nothing and ask for nothing — than pretend there is no cost to keeping the lights on.

Toolhub is built and maintained by an independent developer who goes by rayv. The source and ongoing work live on GitHub at github.com/rayvoidx.
