The exact factors (no rounded 2.2)
The international avoirdupois pound is defined as exactly 0.45359237 kg, so 1 kg = 2.2046226218 lb — not the schoolbook 2.2, which drifts noticeably over large weights. From the pound: 1 lb = 16 ounces (1 oz = 28.349523125 g) and 1 stone = 14 lb = 6.35029318 kg. The Korean units are metric by decree: 1 근 (geun) for food is 600 g, and 1 돈 (don) is 3.75 g, the standard for weighing gold and other precious metals.

Common mistakes
- Rounding the pound to 2.2. Fine for a rough guess, wrong for anything precise — use the exact 0.45359237 kg factor this tool applies.
- Confusing the avoirdupois ounce with the troy ounce. Precious metals are traded in troy ounces (31.1035 g), not the 28.35 g avoirdupois ounce here. For gold, the don is the relevant traditional unit; convert to grams first, then to troy ounces if you need them.
- Assuming one "geun." The food geun is 600 g, but a herbal-medicine geun is traditionally 375 g. This tool uses the everyday food value; specialist contexts may differ.
- Mass vs weight. Kilograms and pounds here measure mass. Your "weight" as a force changes with gravity; on the Moon your mass in kg is unchanged even though you feel lighter.
Precision and scope
Every result keeps up to 10 significant figures and trims trailing zeros, switching to scientific notation for very large or very small magnitudes so nothing is lost to rounding.
